New to the forums, first post in fact, and I searched and read through a lot of threads but didn't find an anwswer so...

When I record my audio into T2, I can mix it up and get a good full sound when I monitor in the software.

Anytime that I export an audio file, aka render a .wav file, the output is very quiet vs. the "in software" sound. Anytime I pump up the master volume in the software, upon export I start to hear some clipping/popping so clearly that is not the answer.

I want my exports to sound exactly like they sound when I mix them in the software, or What I Hear Is What I Get on the output!

I using the 44k mode and have tried the RMS Normalize options etc.

Basically a newb (bet that was tough to tell) to recording so any help would be great!

Thanks!

By what method are you using to listen to the outputted file?

is it all audio, or vsti?

It's all audio, just render the output to a .wav and burn it to a disk or pump it through media player...either way the result is the same.

Thanks for the response, I hope you can help.

try downloading tape-it and record what you're hearing, and then export and show us what you mean :)

Whenever this has happened to me, or friends of mine, it always turned out that the default volume on the media player (iTunes, Windows Media Player, etc.) was not set to full volume by default. To replicate what you are hearing in Tracktion, you would want the volume to be set to full.

You could also try importing the file back into Tracktion, and see if its volume is still too low there. That would help narrow down the problem; if the volume is normal that way, then the problem isn't Tracktion, but however you're playing it back.

Hmm, ok good things to consider. I'll try these tonight. Thanks!

Don't check the rms box when normalizing, just normalize. Also, on your final output meter, what does it look like when the full track is playing - are you approaching red? If not, then you are just taking advantage of T2's 64 bit mix engine, and not pumping things up enough across your tracks.

There was a thread with a guy describing a similar problem. The answer was that Media player uses some other driver (multimedia?dx?) while in your host you're most probably using ASIO. Try using Winamp configured to use ASIO and see if it makes a difference.

I've have had that problem 2.
It's always been the volume on the "other" player.

To be totally certain, export it as a wav, start a new project in T. Import the wavfile on a track an play it. if it sounds the same, you know its the player!

Dont hate the player though, hate the game!
