I am just upgrading from Garage Band to T2. I am working with the demo and have ordered T2. I cannot get T2 to recognize Oxygen8. With Garage band it worked just using a usb connection, and I have since tried to add a midi cable from Oxy8 to my tascam us-122.
I am running panther on a powermac G4. Any help would be greatly appreciated

OK, I am on a PC, but this should be the same on a Mac I think, go to the settings page and then audio devices, at the bottom there is a box saying "only show enabled devices" - make sure that this is unchecked, you should then be able to see the Oxygen 8 listed under the MIDI devices section ('though it may be called In USB Keystation, mine is, this is because the drivers are the same for various M-Audio keyboards), now all you need to do is click on it so it turns green and has a tick beside it. If it doesn't show up on this list try downloading the latest drivers from M-Audio and installing them. I don't know what exactly would show up if you are using a midi cable through your tascam, but it should work fine using usb anyway, good luck.
Oh, and welcome to kvr

I've tried both the keyboard out, and the usb out on the back of the oxy8 into the midi out of tascam us-122
also downloaded the drivers, and unchecked "only show enabled devices"
my devices show in T2 under midi as tascam 122 midi
and port1???

PC / Oxygen-8 here.
You need to install the Oxygen-8 Drivers and it just shows up as a midi device in the config options of T2 to enable/disable - and then once enabled as a device on the left of the T2 screen.
No problems here at all.

port 1 is the one.
I don't know why it shows up under that name, maybe has something to do with your mac audio-midi setup.
It's listed here as port 1 as well

Ok Warp X you've got me real close!
Now when I play my ox8 I see the levels on the track moving and on the master, but no sound. I do here the demo hiss so I know I'm close to getting this!

did you click on the "R" that is on the left of the track?
it should be selected if you want to hear something.

You will need to load up some sort of synth or sampler plug before you can play it..scoplin wrote:Ok Warp X you've got me real close!

Drag the 'new filter' icon from the top of the page and drop it onto the track. From the list that appears, choose a synth plug (you should have mda DX10 & JX10 as options even if you haven't installed anything else yet).
Now select the track and make sure it is routed to an audio output. Also select the input and make sure its 'end to end' option is enabled, and also turn on the e-to-e button by the transport controls.
You should now be able to play the synth from your keyboard..

yes-thanks for asking
never had any problems with Garage Band, wonder if its because I'm working with demo. also, had no problem plugging my guitar into this and adding effects from T2. Just the midi. I also tried using the keyboard on the screen, same thing registers like its making sound but I hear nothing

I'm pretty sure you get them with the demo.. check the 'mda' folder, or possibly one marked '3rd party'..scoplin wrote:mda DX10 & JX10-could these only be available in the full version and not the demo?
failing that, load up the sampler (top part of the list) and drop an audio file into it..
