the clip colours are fixed in T2 - only the eight provided can be used.

I'm pretty sure its 8. T1 had infinity. I find it much faster to match colors with the eight in T2.

if you adjust your colourscheme, you can make the midi clip colors seperate from the audio clip colors in a sense. Hope that helps...

I think you can set the alpha channel for midi and audio individually, which makes the same 8 look different if they are set differently. i.e. midi is opaque and audio is nearly transparent will make yellow look tan for audio, for example. And audio in this case will be colored by the background color that you see through the clip. So effectively 16 colors.

You can set the brightness different for audio and midi giving 16 total. We had complaints with T1 that it was dificult to match them from clip to clip which is why we changed it for T2.

Yes, that's what I was suspecting... Never complained, but I found it difficult, too. And honestly: anyone out there, who used a precisely scaled clip-color-system in T1? I finalley ended up dragging the marker roughly into the color areas. And now with T2 you've got easy access where it used to be hassle! :)

Just curious...does having the ability to set varying levels of alpha (not just for clip colors but throughout the gui in general) in T2 cause an additional cpu hit? I've noticed a few complaining of sluggishness compared with T1. If so, I'd gladly do without the eye candy for improved performance.
