hi
im having a lot of problems with T2's native eq. since it doesnt have a log display, it's very hard to work with mids and lows. What low cost alternatives should I persue? I've been eyeing trackplug by wavearts, i could get a student discount for $75 but im not sure... and all these mixing jobs are sure hurting because of this lack of log view ... argh
any input would help

Trackplug is excellent. Easy on CPU with a compressor and gate thrown in too. How about the free Nyquist eqs by Smart Electronics? I find those instantly gratifying

sounds like IIRs knows something here, that we don't...cool!
It's not cheap, but I am hooked on my Waves Renaissance EQs, they sound great. the only waves package you need is Renaissance IMO.

Have you tried using final mix with just one of the eq's active?
It doesn't rinse out the old cpu too badly used like that & it's free (always a bonus).
With any luck Mackie will release the eq on it's own at some point for use within tracktion, similar to the compressor, but you can still use it with the dynamics etc. turned off for now.

Is it wrong for me to find it weird that you have "all these mixing jobs" yet you won't spring $129 on a great eq like Eqium, or even $75 on Trackplug? I bought the Eqium/Firium/Neodynium combo and they're all great.i could get a student discount for $75 but im not sure... and all these mixing jobs are sure hurting because of this lack of log view
At least it sounds like if you bought a good eq your mixing jobs apparently wouldn't be hurting anymore.
