A number of you have mentioned in the past that you would like some way to create the stacked clip of alternate takes without having to record continuously in loop mode..

.. I haven't found a way to do that, but I have just thought of a better method than the one I was using (for me anyway) so I thought I would share it with you:

Record each take as normal and press stop when finished. To get ready for the next take, simply drag the clip and drop it after the end of the song.. when you come to audition your takes, select the top one (from the random pile of stacked clips you have probably ended up with), drag it to a fresh track if needed, and r-click -> 'set start time to original start time of source BWAV'.

You can then edit out the bits you don't want / delete the duff take and repeat for the next clip.. I found it very fast and easy even with a Les Paul slung round my neck! :hihi:

hmmmm,

drag a recording anywhere then when u need it right click it & reset to bwav time :dog:

Brilliant!!

never thought of that!

sometimes i need loop mode when recording, but at times that i diddent it all got a bit messy, adding a track for each take

in the end i just set the loop to have a 4bar extra so the artist could breath for a tiny itsy witsy bit :)

perks of the job ;)

cheers for the tip mate :)

I usually move takes down into a muted track just below as that can be done with a single keystroke... But the boss thing about the "loop clips" is that you always have the whole stack there even in new editted clips....

I didn't either! even posted some grousing and (in retrospect) lame sugestions. Just give us a way to make stacks without having to loop them and I'll be in heaven...
