Pros:
[] Acting was superb, especially the part of D-Jay played by Terence Howard
[] It was very well written
[] The music in it was well thought out
Cons:
[] Some of the beatmaking scenes just didn't cut it... for instance they were recording to tape... and I don't mean DAT, but they had a pro mixing board (its just hard to believe that these dudes have a pro mixing board and MPC and no HD recorder or CD burner). Not only that but they had obvious inserts (chorusing, reverb, and compression) on their vocals but no hardware effects and they didn't use a computer so I know they had no software effects either.
[] Its not the kind of movie you could take your kids to. Its filled with profanity and violence... much like some rap music.
So basically I recommend this movie to anyone who is not familiar with Southern hiphop or loves southern hiphop, and if you're one of those ppl that just doesn't like hiphop at all then most likely you will at least enjoy the plot and acting.
