T2 and Battery2 with multi outs - problem

With Battery2 in a rack wrapper, I've got outputs from battery going to channels 1/2 ..... 9/10
It is all set-up corretly as sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.
When I first open T2 and load up my tune I get no sound out of any battery channel.
If I open each instance of the battery rack and fiddle around (just clicking on random cells)then close the project and re-open it it sometimes works, other times I have to open and close T2 and re-load my tune several times before anything comes out of battery.
There's nothing I actually change, it's just a matter of opening and closing T2 until it works.
Very frustating and time wasting. Anyone else had a similar problem?
T2 and Battery2 using only channels 1/2 is no problem.
PC is running WinXP Home SP2 - 3GHz P4, 2GB RAM, 500GB disks, E-MU 1820 card.
Thanks
Pete
PS - Pc is a dedicated music PC

Known bug; irritates the hell out of me. It's known as the "rack initialisation bug" and it's been around for ages. I'm sure it is being worked on though.PeteInEssex wrote:With Battery2 in a rack wrapper, I've got outputs from battery going to channels 1/2 ..... 9/10

That said, you don't need to keep reopening edits, just click on the rack filter on a track, and toggle one of the input/output settings (IE set 'left channel comes from' to something other than teh current setting, then set it back again. Generally this'll wake th rack up without any problems.

I've got 5 instances of Battery2 in a rack wrapper in T2.
As sugested by valley, I created an extra input to the rack and have tried toggling between the 'fake' input and the real one on each of the 5 instances with no luck - not a peep out of any of the Bat2 racks. valley's idea did work a few times over the last few days, but today I aint getting nuffink !
I've been fiddling around for the best part of an hour now, I've re-booted the PC, opened and closed T2 and toggled the inputs, but still can't get a peep out of Bat2 - worked fine yesterday.
Are there any other workarounds that you good people are aware of?
thanks
Pete

HI
Do you use or have Energy XT?
That could negate the problem altogether as you would be able to access all your individual out's on a seperate mixer channel with full access to individual inserts/eq ect.
For the price IMO it's an absolute essential purchase.
See ya, Flipper in Hornchurch ..... Essex!

I tell you what, the south side of Chicago looks, feels, and smells, just like the Thames corridor. I could be living in Grays or Thurrock right now.
I even have a mile of water-side casinos just for those days when I miss[1] Southend's shining seafront.
[1] not that many days, as it happens.

Uh read the thread again. There are a few work arounds that eventually work. And it really is a rack bug not a multi outputs bug. This is a known issue, that has unfortunately been around a while. I'll try to bump it up in priority to see if we can't it finally sorted.ttoz wrote:yet another showstoppinbg bug. multi outputs are unsable. great.

Well you said multi outputs are unusable, which is not true. There is simply a bug surrounding getting them to work.

It works fine 90% of the time. And even if the rack doesnt start right away, its just a matter of reseting the device which takes a second. Dont worry.ttoz wrote:I did read the thread again. Aren't RACKS the only way to use multi outs in tracktion?Beno wrote:Uh read the thread again. There are a few work arounds that eventually work. And it really is a rack bug not a multi outputs bug. It's always a workaround.
sorry, but this should just work. essential.
This has shocked me reading this thread, i hadn't used any multiinstruments in any projects yet.
You can also try using "Get out" for another option.
