M-Audio Firewire Audiophile + Tracktion

I'm trying to set up a Mac G3 (500 MHz, 256 MB ram) running OSX 10.3.9 with Tracktion 2 and M-Audio Firewire Audiophile.

The problem:

I'm getting the whole latency problem when recording (a Yamaha P-120 digital piano running into line inputs 1 & 2 of the Audiophile) where I hear the two signals.

To solve the problem, i run the auto-detect test.

Upon hitting "run test" I get this message:

"Couldn't detect the test signal.

This might be because the output isn't being correctly looped back or because the signal is too quiet or noisy (if you're using a microphone or other indirect audio path)"

I don't know how to set up the Audiophile to allow T2 to run the test.

If anyone is running a similar setup or is familiar with the mixer controls on the Audiophile, I would greatly appreciate some advice.
