Hey everyone. I don't lurk on here that much so I don't know if this has been covered, but I was horrified to discover what seems to me a bug in the ReWire impletmentation in Tracktion 2, since I looked hard and could not see any settings I might have wrong.
The problem is that when playing back the piano roll with T2 ReWired to GS3, T2 doesn't seem to be sending all notes off messages when playback is stopped somewhere in the roll. When it gets to the end of a clip it does send notes off, but if you stop playback in the roll and it happens to be on a note or chord, the notes just stick on and play continuusly until you either restart playback of the roll or somehow manually send notes off from your controller.
I gotta tell you, this is a huge problem, not to mention an obnoxious pain in the ass because I stop playback constantly during my editing process, which is very intensive and a big part of how I write music. If the notes and chords are just sticking on every time I stop playback to do an edit, it's so much of a hassle that if the problem can't be fixed somehow, I'm going to have to turn off Giga and use a VST sampler to do all my editing, which I'd prefer not to do since GS3 is my main sampler.
There is a parameter on the misc. settings page to tick or untick "send all controllers off when playback is stopped" but this was already on while this problem happened and appreas to only govern the H/W MIDI output, not ReWire.
Please, please, if this hasn't been discussed before, could someone who runs GS 3.1 and Tracktion 2 try recreating this and, if there's some setting I'm just not aware of that can fix this issue, try to help me figure out what it is? I'm really stuck not being able to use GS3 for much of what I want to do until I can get around it.
Thanks so much,
Dave

It was suggested in the effects forum that I turn e to e off and back on again, but I had already tried that and it didn't work.
Seriously, are there no people here that ReWire GS 3.1 into Tracktion 2?

Frippertronix - I deal with the same issue with T2 and GS3.1 - you are not alone
I would rather not use ReWire, but T2 doesn't have a proper MTC start/stop frame controls so GS3 doesn't recognize/synchronize properly.
I "workaround" this by shutting off any stuck notes using the channel mute buttons in GS3.
I'm pretty confident that Mackie/Jules with get it right so I'm still a T2 faithful.

Wow, this is really sick and not what I wanted to hear, but thanks very much for responding.Bennett wrote:Frippertronix - I deal with the same issue with T2 and GS3.1 - you are not alone

To me, a better solution is just to simplify sending a notes off message so that it only requires an extra mouse click while remaining on Tracktion 2's main page. You could also send it from a button on your controller, I guess, but my preferred one is a Casio
Now that I know I'm not crazy
I hope Beno or Jules sees this and maybe they will understand that this is a serious problem for GS 3.1 users.
Without a very fast workaround, it's a supreme pain to do intensive editing with the notes sticking all over the place.

Bump. I'm hoping someone from RMS or Mackie will see this. Thanks.
