Nest is a modular system which gravitates around the creation of MIDI. The basic ingredients are: 20 modules inspired by classic integrated circuits and today's computer features, a clever voice to synth assignment, 12 patch scenes and a quad VST/Synth/MIDI Interface.
You could call it a circuit bending sandbox MIDI generator. It is like having a MIDI Sequencer laid out on the breadboard, having all the internals ready to play with. It provides all possible MIDI sequencer functionalities, but on a modular circuit level.
MIDI data is generated and processed by a selection of modules, which could be Math, Logic, Shift Registers or Multiplexers. With Nest you can build up complex musical organisms, arpeggiators or intelligent sequencers.
8 individual MIDI voices can be assigned to internal synths and drums, 4 VST2 Plug-ins and 16 MIDI channels,
including automation of plug-in parameters and MIDI CCs.
Nest is a never ending source of inspiration, experimenting on the rift between man and machine, where complex logic soon has a life of its own.
