Imperfect Samples has announced the release of the Hohner White Baby Grand Piano, a 24-bit multi-sampled imperfect grand piano instrument for Kontakt and EXS24.
With an emphasis on realistic and imperfect performance sounds, the Hohner White Baby Grand has a sound character that sits between a full size grand and an upright. This grand is desirable for certain situations where an intimate grand sound without sterility is required. With 102 layers spread across 3 microphone perspectives, this sample library totals over 17,000 unique samples.
Imperfect Samples says that one of the major benefits of Imperfect Samples' White Baby Grand is its additional microphone perspectives. Microphone perspective 1 has been recorded 2 inches from the soundboard, for a stereo, wide sound. Perspective 2 has been recorded closer to the hammers, for a cleaner sound. Perspective 3 has been recorded 2 metres away from the grand, to capture the room sound. These three microphone perspectives provide very different sounds, but have identical start times, which means this sample library can be mixed just like a live grand piano.
