Novation Releases Launchkey 61 MK4 White - 61-Key Edition Joins the White MK4 Range
Novation has released Launchkey 61 MK4 White, a white-and-grey colorway of its 61-key MIDI keyboard controller. It extends the white finish, first shown on the Launchkey Mini 37 White and Launchkey 49 White at Superbooth 2025, to the largest keybed in the fourth-generation Launchkey line.
The controller carries the full MK4 feature set unchanged, so the only difference from the standard 61 MK4 is the finish. That includes the semi-weighted keybed Novation introduced on the 49 and 61-key MK4 models, a bank of nine faders, eight rotary encoders, and 16 velocity-sensitive pads with polyphonic aftertouch. An OLED display shows parameter and chord information as you play.
The MK4 range is built around hands-on DAW control, with mappings for Ableton Live, Logic, Cubase, FL Studio, Reason, Bitwig and Ardour that work without setup. The faders and encoders address mixers, instruments and effects, while the pads handle beats, chords, clip launching and grid work. Novation includes its creative-performance tools here too: an arpeggiator, Chord Modes for building progressions, Scale Mode to keep playing in key, and a Chord Detector that names the chord on the display.
For players integrating the keyboard into a wider rig, Split divides the keys into two independent zones and Layer stacks two MIDI channels on the same keys. A full-size MIDI out port drives external synths and hardware, the Components software maps parameters to any pad or control, and the unit is NKS-ready for Native Instruments and third-party libraries.
The bundle is aimed at producers who want a ready-to-play setup rather than just a controller. It ships with Novation Play, an instrument designed for 1:1 integration with Launchkey MK4 and FLkey 2, along with Ableton Live Lite, Cubase LE, and instruments and effects from Klevgrand, GForce, Orchestral Tools and Native Instruments, plus lessons from Melodics.
The white edition fills a straightforward gap: until now the 61-key, semi-weighted option in the MK4 range was only available in the standard dark finish, while the smaller white models sat below it.
