discoDSP updates OB-Xd synth to v3.14

discoDSP has updated OB-Xd synth to version 3.14.

OB-Xd 3.14 introduces polyphonic unison mode - a major enhancement allowing multiple notes to be played simultaneously with stacked voices per note, unlocking more evolving chords and complex textures.

What's New:

  • Polyphonic Unison: Previously, unison forced monophonic behavior (one note at a time). Now you can play chords with unison engaged - stack 2-4 voices per note across 4-8 note chords for massive pads and lush leads.
  • Flexible Voice Architecture: Polyphony Voices controls simultaneous notes you can play, while Unison Voices controls how many voices stack per note. Classic mono unison still available by setting polyphony to 1. Practical Examples:
    • 8 voices, multiply 2 = 4 notes with 2 stacked voices each (thick chords).
    • 16 voices, multiply 4 = 4 notes with 4 stacked voices (super-wide pads).
    • 32 voices, multiply 2 = 16 notes with 2 voices each (complex sequences).
  • UI Improvements: New polyphony preset menu with musically meaningful values (1, 2, 4, 6, 8, 12, 16, 24, 32). First-time unison button click dialog explains the new poly unison behavior.
  • Efficient Performance: OB-Xd 3's vectorized engine (AVX2 for Intel/AMD and NEON for Apple Silicon) makes polyphonic unison practical even with extreme settings.
