discoDSP has announced the release of OB-Xd version 3.6, bringing improvements to MIDI control mapping and user interface functionality.
New Default MIDI CC Mappings
Expanded MIDI control capabilities by adding default mappings for previously unmapped parameters:
- Voice Multiply (VOICES) is now accessible via CC 120.
- Filter envelope shape (LOG-LIN) can be controlled using CC 121.
- Amplifier envelope shape (LOG-LIN) is mapped to CC 122.
- Filter Falloff (FLT COMP) is now controllable via CC 123.
MIDI Mapping Improvements
Resolved the MIDI CC mapping overlap between BENDRANGE and LEVEL_DIF parameters. BENDRANGE (Bend Octave) is now mapped to CC 118, while LEVEL_DIF (Loudness Detune) uses CC 124.
LFO Mapping Fixes
A significant fix has been implemented for the MIDI Output Listener's LFO mapping chain. The fillMap() function now correctly assigns:
- LfoOsc1 to LFOOSC1 (CC 47).
- LfoOsc2 to LFOOSC2 (CC 48).
- LfoFrequency to LFOFREQ (CC 19).
Enhanced Control Interface
Fine adjustment uses Ctrl on Linux and Alt on other platforms, preventing conflicts with Linux window managers.
Additional Updates
The release also includes fixed Korg MS2000 MIDI XML mappings for better hardware compatibility and updated PDF manual with more detailed MIDI CC Map parameter descriptions.
