iamlamprey has released Eidolon - Haunted Piano, an ambient pad instrument with 2GB of source material created from mangling piano recordings using all manner of audio-processing tools including extreme time-stretching, granular resynthesis, vocoding, cavernous reverbs and infinite delay-lines.
The library contains 16 patches which can be loaded into one of 3 samplers. It also includes a random-patch button to instantly generate a random pad patch, and 20 factory presets to give users a starting point.
Eidolon can fit well in ambient music, but can also create droning dark atmospheres for horror or thriller pieces.
