iZotope has announced the release of Ozone 12, the latest iteration of their comprehensive mastering suite. This new version introduces several new modules and AI-powered workflows aimed at providing greater control and efficiency in the final stages of music production.
Ozone 12 brings three brand-new plugins to the suite:
- The Bass Control module is designed to give power and control to the low end, ensuring it translates well across different playback systems.
- A new Stem EQ module allows for fine-tuning of isolated stems like vocals, bass, or drums without needing the original multitrack mix.
- The Unlimiter is designed to revive mixes that have been overly compressed.
The Maximizer, a long-standing feature of Ozone, has been updated with a new IRC 5 limiting mode, which iZotope describes as its most advanced algorithm yet, promising louder and cleaner masters without pumping or distortion. The AI-powered Master Assistant also sees an update with a new "Custom" workflow, allowing users to select genre profiles, upload reference tracks, set LUFS targets, and define the processing strength for a more tailored starting point.
What's new in Ozone 12?
- Bass Control: A new module for perfecting your low end.
- Stem EQ: Make EQ adjustments to isolated stems within your stereo file.
- Unlimiter: Revive mixes that have been crushed by excessive compression.
- IRC 5 Maximizer: The latest and most advanced limiting algorithm in Ozone for achieving clean loudness.
- Updated Master Assistant: A new "Custom" flow offers more control over the AI-powered mastering process.
