Majetone says Kensal Clubdate was recorded in 2014 in a great North West London studio, shortly before the building was bought (and demolished) by developers. It features eight instruments centred around A 1964 Ludwig 'Clubdate' kit, 1938 Leedy Broadway Parallel snare, both with boutique vellum heads, Vintage K Zildjian Cymbals recorded with Sticks, Teatowel muffling (ala Ringo, Keltner, Helm, etc.) Metal Brushes, Nylon Brushes, Hotrods, Threaded Brushes, Mallets and Broomsticks. Then processed with an Akai tape machine and fuzz pedals for additional options. Kensal Clubdate can go from clean to gritty and anything in between.
