Native Instruments has released LCO Producer Strings, a new Kontakt instrument created in collaboration with the London Contemporary Orchestra.
Known for their adventurous and innovative approach, the LCO has contributed to award-winning film scores like Deadpool & Wolverine and has worked with artists such as Radiohead, Frank Ocean, Taylor Swift, and The Weeknd. This new library aims to put their unique sound directly into the hands of producers.
LCO Producer Strings focuses on delivering modern, gritty, and sometimes glitchy string textures. The sounds were captured at London's RAK Studios with engineer Fiona Cruickshank. The instrument is built around a flexible four-layer engine, allowing users to stack and blend violins, violas, cellos, and synth sections to create rich, evolving textures. You can work with the raw organic sounds or mix them with synth beds and granular textures for more hybrid timbres. The library also includes unique articulations like cluster blooms, harmonic flickers, and percussive pizzicatos for an avant-garde touch.
