Techivation has introduced M-Exciter, a harmonic enhancement plug-in aimed at adding brightness and presence to audio without introducing harshness or distortion.
The plug-in generates new overtones derived from the fundamental content of the input signal. Users can adjust the specific frequency range where these harmonics are applied. According to the company, the added harmonics are blended using phase-preserving processing to maintain the original transients and dynamics.
M-Exciter also includes a spectral suppression system, similar to that found in Techivation's previous tools such as M-Clarity and M-De-Esser, designed to keep high-frequency enhancements under control and avoid excessive sharpness.
