Bitform

Bitform is a deliberately constrained monophonic synthesizer inspired by classic chiptune sound technology. Four specialized voices, no presets, one focused workflow.

FOUR VOICES

• Pulse Lead – PolyBLEP-antialiased pulse oscillator with exponential pitch sweep and optional vibrato.
• Wave Bass – 32-sample × 4-bit waveform bank with 16 fixed shapes, tempo-synced 4-level envelope, morph control.
• Pulse Stab – same pulse engine as Lead, with up to 3 internal voices across 8 chord shapes for arps and stabs.
• Noise Drum – 15-bit / 7-bit LFSR noise with 16 clock rates, MIDI-tracked pitch, and a drop control for drum design.

COLOR STAGE

Three post-voice character modes: Digital (real bit-depth and sample-rate reduction), Analog (tanh saturation with slow drift), Hybrid (blend of both). High-pass filter with phase rotation.

PROCESSOR

Drive multi-tap delay (1–8 taps, cubic interpolation) 4-stage modulated allpass diffusion 1-pole tone tilt DC blocker, with soft-capped feedback. Insert or parallel routing.

DESIGN

Monophonic, last-note legato (16-note hold stack). Stepped envelopes (16-level pulse, 4-level wave) with one-pole smoothing. Custom Skia-rendered editor with a three-layer lock-free oscilloscope.

No polyphony. No LFOs. No mod matrix. No MIDI CC. No factory presets. The RANDOMIZE button is the discovery mechanism; copy/paste preset state for sharing. 29 host parameters total.
