The Black Lion Audio Bluey is a faithful recreation of a legendary, one-of-a-kind "Blue Stripe" FET compressor. This particular unit, owned by renowned mix engineer Chris Lord-Alge, has been heard on countless hit records and is known for its aggressive and harmonically rich character. Through years of maintenance and modifications with now-unavailable components, the original unit became a unique and highly sought-after piece of gear. Black Lion Audio has meticulously recreated this magic, making its coveted sonic signature accessible to the world.

The Bluey captures the punchy and energetic sound of the original unit with incredible accuracy. It features custom-wound Cinemag transformers that replicate the original's input and output transformers. To get even closer to the sound of Chris Lord-Alge's console, Black Lion Audio has recreated his console's insert path and built it right into the Bluey. This attention to detail ensures that the Bluey delivers the same feel and response as the legendary original. The unit also includes a wet/dry mix knob for easy parallel compression, a feature not found on the original.
