Bullfrog XL

The Erica Synths Bullfrog XL is an expanded and enhanced version of the popular Bullfrog educational synthesizer. Developed in collaboration with Richie Hawtin, the Bullfrog XL takes the core concepts of the original and elevates them to a new level, offering a more powerful and versatile instrument that is equally at home in an educational setting or a professional music studio. The Bullfrog XL retains the clear, logical layout and hands-on approach of its smaller sibling, but adds a host of new features that significantly expand its sonic potential and performance capabilities.

Like the original, the Bullfrog XL is a complete semi-modular analog synthesizer voice, featuring a powerful VCO, a classic Polivoks-style VCF, a VCA, and versatile modulation sources including a looping envelope and a sample & hold circuit. The XL version adds several key features, including a dedicated keyboard with aftertouch and velocity sensitivity, making it a more expressive and playable instrument. It also includes an expanded effects section with a built-in delay and reverb, adding depth and space to your sounds. The sequencer has also been enhanced, offering more steps and greater control over your patterns.
