Brainworx's bx_clipper is designed to help you achieve competitively loud masters while maintaining clarity. Unlike traditional limiters, bx_clipper truncates waveform peaks above a set threshold (Ceiling), increasing loudness without causing squashed pumping effects.

Positioned at the end of your mastering chain, bx_clipper complements your limiter, bridging the gap between loud and ultra-loud mixes. The clipping engine offers two modes—FET for smooth, natural sound and Diode for edgy distortion. With controls like Ceiling and Knee, you can choose from a range of clipping effects.

The Auto Ceiling feature optimizes loudness by automatically analyzing and setting the Ceiling level, preventing unwanted distortion. Auto Trim ensures equal-loudness comparisons by adjusting bx_clipper's output based on RMS differences between input and processed signals.

Dual-mono and M/S modes provide enhanced stereo control, allowing independent clipping of mid and side channels. The combination of analog-modeled circuits and digital features, such as Ambience for auditioning clipped information and a Wet knob for over-fold distortion, provides a versatile tool for crafting unique, loud masters with analog warmth and digital precision.
