Clampit

Clampit is a free true-peak limiter for macOS. It holds a hard ceiling on your master or bus while keeping loudness transparent, with true-peak detection that catches the inter-sample peaks a normal limiter misses.

Three limiter characters:

• KNOCK — a clean, hard knee for transparent, surgical gain reduction.
• GLUE — a soft knee for smooth, musical limiting.
• CLOBBER — a hard knee with added saturation for an aggressive, characterful edge.

Set the ceiling and let it breathe:

• Adjustable Ceiling down to a true-peak-safe level, with 4× oversampled detection to stop inter-sample overshoot.
• Release from fast to slow, plus Auto Release that adapts to transients and sustained material.
• Lookahead up to 5 ms and continuously variable Stereo Link from dual-mono to fully linked.
• Dither (16- or 24-bit TPDF) as the final step for clean bit-depth reduction.

Monitoring and metering:

• LUFS metering (momentary, short-term and integrated) alongside gain-reduction and stereo level meters with peak hold.
• A Delta monitor that solos exactly what the limiter is removing.
• Constant Loudness bypass that level-matches so you hear the character, not just a jump in volume.
• Mono Check to test how your master folds down on club systems.

• 15 factory presets, plus preset save/load, A/B compare and randomize.
• A DC blocker and final safety clip to keep the ceiling honest.
• Static latency reporting for lookahead, with delay compensation handled automatically by the host.
