CustomTone 2 is a generative instrument that lets you design motion, harmony, and texture inside one living plug-in. Wire a node graph that sequences notes and modulates sound at the same time, drop in a sample and let it lock everything to key, then press Evolve and let the patch drift into something you haven't heard yet — while the parts you love stay locked.

The Motion Map

Eight nodes orbit a central hub. Drag to rewire them and every connection becomes a live signal path that sequences notes and modulates parameters in a single move. Lock the nodes that work; leave the rest open to change:

• Per-node behaviour: arpeggio, delay, reverse, gate, grain or pitch.
• Per-node mute & lock — protect the parts you want to keep.
• Density, swing, gate, probability and humanise controls.

Evolve

Press Evolve and the engine mutates its own state under your locks: anything you've pinned stays put, everything else moves toward a fresh variation. Keep pressing until a patch clicks.

Harmony — drop a sample, it finds the key

The Harmony engine analyses any audio you drop in, detects its key in real time, and locks the rest of the plug-in to it — host MIDI, motion-fired chords and every layer are quantised to the scale you actually meant. Pick a mood and a scale, and the chord cards rewrite themselves:

• Real-time key detection.
• Major, Natural Minor, Dorian, Phrygian, Phrygian Dominant and Harmonic Minor.
• Per-step chord voicing — choose quality and inversion.
• Eight mood presets: Late Night, Cinematic, Trap, Jazz, Bright and more.

Six-layer Texture engine

Six fully independent voices, each with its own source. Drag a sample onto any layer and the engine slices, key-detects and routes it automatically — stack them, round-robin them, or pitch one an octave down for a pad while another reverses for a percussive tail:

• Sources: audio file, wave oscillator, or wavetable (hyper-saw unison).
• Per-layer pitch, pan, mute, solo, key-shift and loop region.
• Six tempo-syncable effects: delay, filter, reverse, stretch, drive, modulation.
• Six reverb algorithms: Deep Space, Hall, Plate, Room, Cave, Cloud.
• SmartMaster auto-leveller and brick-wall limiter on the output.

Five macros

Every patch reduces to five hands-on controls — Color, Pulse, Drift, Space and Bloom — so a single twist reshapes the whole sound, from frozen to wild.
