The Erica Synths Bassline DB-01 is a powerful and versatile desktop bassline synthesizer that combines a fully analog signal path with an advanced and intuitive sequencer. Designed to be a creative powerhouse for generating everything from classic acid riffs to deep, earth-shaking sub-basses and aggressive, distorted leads, the DB-01 is a standalone instrument that encourages experimentation and happy accidents. The sound engine of the DB-01 is built around a single analog oscillator with selectable sawtooth and square waveforms. The real magic happens in the filter section, which is a Polivoks-style low-pass/band-pass filter with a unique topology that allows it to be incredibly aggressive and resonant. A one-knob overdrive circuit adds further grit and character. A standout feature is the detune function, which uses a BBD-based circuit to create a thick, chorus-like effect by adding a detuned sub-oscillator. The sequencer is equally impressive, offering up to 64 steps per pattern, with per-step control over pitch, gate, slide, and accent. It also features a probability setting for creating evolving and unpredictable patterns, as well as a dedicated FM modulation track. A built-in arpeggiator and a random pattern generator provide even more creative inspiration. With full MIDI implementation and extensive CV/Gate I/O, the Bassline DB-01 can be the centerpiece of any electronic music setup.
