Dominator

Dominator is a synth that can create the hardest hitting bass-lines to the most sonically clear plucks. All through its radically new method of creating wavetables: Multi-Cycle Wave Analysing synthesis.

Dominator also employs the use of Frequency Dissonance to create Dubstep-style wobbles instead of the traditional use of the LFO (though one is still included).

Ideal for styles ranging right from: Dubstep, Drum 'n' Bass, Electro, House, and Trance to Avant Garde and contemporary.

In short, this method of synthesis creates a wavetable from an analysed pre-existing waveform using a rather unorthodox method. Not to be confused with re-synthesis/sample based synthesis.

The Oscillator can analyse and draw in the first 512 points of any waveform in a 16-bit WAV file no matter how complex. The user can then save the freshly analysed waveform as a Hexadecimal file, and load it back into the oscillator in "HEX Mode". There the user can modify the waveform using a draw tool and save it as a preset.

The overall waveform is processed by cycling it through the oscillator many times a second, separating each shape of waveform whilst preserving the overall amplitude and producing each signal independently before recombining the signals in layers. This, in effect makes a wavetable.

If a normal single-cycle waveform like a sine wave is loaded into the oscillator, the oscillator can't split anything so it will reproduce the waveform as it is.

After the signals from the two oscillators are combined, the Sub OSC signal is used as a carrier wave so the signals from the main oscillators "ride" on the Sub OSC's waveform like a surfer would on a wave. This creates an incredibly complex signal.

Dubstep-like "wobbles" can be made (providing the right settings are chosen) when two notes are played at the same time. The two waveforms weave in and out of each other on the Sub OSC carrier wave creating a harsh dissonance when they cross: This is frequency dissonance in action. The further apart the pitches, the faster the "wobble".
