DR-84

Very nice little plugin. Simple and straight to the point, doesn't do much, but does it good.

The Pitch and Trim controls add that additional control useful to fine tune the sound when needed.

I used to have a Linn Drum kit in my DAW's drum sampler, done with original samples... DR-84 sounds almost identical to that kit, but the plugin layout is so simple that it is a joy to use for Electro / 80s music, and it replaced the other sampler for this specific use.

The kits are good sounding and true to the originals.

The UI is simple and effective, doesn't strike for being super modern or beautiful, but it is still pleasant and, more importantly, clear and to the point.

Absolutely recommended.

Note: We can only choose one platform, but I use both PCs and Macs, and my opinion on DR-84 applies to both.

I came across this a little while ago (thanks to Bedroom Producer's Blog) and it has since been my go-to drum machine. It's perfect 80's style music, particularly with the Synthwave presets. I love the hard hitting kicks, the wonderfully compressed snares and the relatively natural sounding overheads. I would pay money for additional Synthwave presets for this plugin.

Haven't even tried this yet but been looking for exactly this! Demo sounds great.

The drum kits are on point. The plugin works flawlessly. The only thing I haven't figured out yet is how to route the drums individually, but maybe that's just me.

Pros:

+ Great, authentic selection of drum kits. Well suited for synthwave and retro.
