DX Keys

DX Keys is a meticulous, multisampled recreation of the classic Electric Piano and Piano sounds from Yamaha's era-defining DX7. We used the DX7 IID as our source instrument for its cleaner convertors, and the wonderfully sparkly FM tones themselves are presented in a software version of the IID's "Program" slot, which lets you combine two basic patches, mix them, detune them and otherwise blend them into the EP of your dreams :-)

DX Keys also includes onboard Chorus and a rich, period-authentic Lexicon Reverb with nine convolved presets, allowing you to give your DX pianos that all-important sheen. With six velocity layers per patch and comprehensive multisampling, DX Keys accurately replicates the superbly responsive, velocity-sensitive behaviour of the original hardware: the DX7 was above all a player's instrument, and we've made sure to capture this quality in great depth.

Including over 830MB of compressed samples in a simple-to-use yet powerful interface, DX Keys gives you THOSE sounds from THAT machine in one handy package – including of course the world-famous Full Tines patch in all its glory! Suitable both for 80s-inspired synth pop and contemporary electric piano duties, this is a slice of the past that still has the power to inspire today.
