Gorilla Bass

Apologies in advance if this is a stupid question as I'm totally new to romplers, but with the Gorilla Bass, increasing the Release parameter simply adds an extended tail to the sample after the MIDI note is released with an abrupt release. Am I supposed to be able to configure a more realistic release which reduces in volume after the note is released?

The release is the amount of time a sound will decay once the note is released. The longer the release the longer the "tail".
