Grit Blender

Grit Blender is a saturation plugin built around one idea: blending. Choose from twelve saturation algorithms — each with its own harmonic character and dynamic response — and combine them using three distinct blend modes.

12 Saturation Algorithms

Tape, Tube, Transistor, Digital, Diode, Fuzz, Desk, Ribbon, Pentode, Rectifier, Wavefolder, and Asymmetric. Tube and Pentode include RC sag simulation for dynamic power supply behavior.

3 Blend Modes

• Triangle (3-Way): Assign any three types to the vertices of a triangle. Drag a single cursor to blend between them.
• Advanced (12-Way): Independent sliders for all twelve algorithms at once.
• Dual Stage: Two blend panels in series with adaptive inter-stage filtering, for layered and cascaded saturation textures.

Frequency Crossovers

Define exactly which frequency range gets saturated. Enable a low crossover to keep sub-bass clean, a high crossover to protect treble, or both to focus saturation on a specific band. Linkwitz-Riley 4th-order filters with phase-aligned recombination. In M/S or L/R mode, each channel gets independent crossover frequencies. Real-time pre-effect spectrum display with draggable handles.

Sound Shaping

• Punch: Restores transient attack that saturation tends to soften.
• Smooth: Reduces upper-frequency harshness.
• 5 Tone Curves: Tilt, Warm (low shelf), Air (high shelf), Smile (bass + treble co-shelf), and Presence (mid bell).
• Analog Output Stage: Adds subtle harmonic coloring to the final signal.
• Intensity control (0–200%) for Punch, Smooth, and Analog in the Advanced panel.

M/S and L/R Processing

Independent drive, mix, and blend settings for Mid/Side or Left/Right channels, with per-channel crossover frequencies for precise stereo shaping.

MIDI Key Track & Resonance

Incoming MIDI notes control the crossover frequency and a resonance filter, enabling pitch-aware saturation that follows your playing.
