inSIDious is a meticulous emulation of the legendary SID chip, a sound generator made popular in the Commodore 64 home computer. This virtual synth, created by Mike Clarke, accurately models the oscillators, filters, modulators, and behavior of the SID in fine detail - both 6581 and 8580 variations.
The synth is powered by Reaktor 6 Player, available free from Native Instruments, and is fully NKS Compatible for use with Maschine, S-Series keyboards, and other software & hardware tools.
Users can quickly create iconic SID sounds such as fast arpeggios, PWM leads, and rumbling sound effects through the three independent multi-waveform oscillators, each of which sports their own sequencer table and modulators. The global analog-modeled filter offers three stackable modes and six curves, along with dedicated modulation.
For those seeking instant inspiration, inSIDious includes 350 snapshots from a variety of categorized banks including 8 Artist Banks from famous composers & musicians known for their work with the SID.
