This synth has a strong, distinctive sound. The sonorities are generally harsh and abrasive, aggressive and penetrating rather than smooth and sweet. It's easy to tweak. The documentation covers only the basics, but that's all you need. It uses a lot of cpu; if your machine is more than a year or two old you'll probably want to reduce the polyphony.
Despite its virtues, though, I've only used it in one tune since it was ported to the Mac. It's just a little too harsh to my ears. If your tastes are different, you might find it useful.
