Freshtone proudly presents a set of 40 crisply combustive retro loops with lasting quality, with that proper live human touch, every note truly organic and played with soul and passion by hugely experienced players, and sounding authentically like it did back in the day, just great. In Acid WAV and Apple Loop formats our recording locations for these tracks included Gizzard Studios in East London, with their Alice Stancoil early 1970's mixer and Studer tape machines, they used a trusted Hammond B3, 1972 Wurlitzer, 1969 Gibson ES 335, 1971 Fender Stratocaster and Hofner and customised Sandberg Basses in the sessions.

Old Premier and Ludwig kits were recorded like on previous 'Lost Tapes' using a selection of rare ribbon mics. If you want to define an era for these loops they sit between 1967 and 1973, a period of transition from the early funk of the mid-sixties to the psychedelic influenced funk of the early seventies. The horn section this time originates riffs that herald the early stages of such bands like Tower of Power and Earth Wind and Fire, as we slowly move forward through the years.

The result is once again an exciting, genuinely authentic collection of old skool tunes that evoke those bygone eras which capture the true spirit of the ages of funk and soul.
