4 Plugins, One Philosophy: Hardware-Calibrated DSP, Digital Precision

The McPlugins suite is a collection of professional audio compressors developed by XeniAudio, designed to deliver the warm, musical character of classic analog hardware with the precision and flexibility of modern digital processing. Starting with v1.3.0, every emulation has been profiled against measurements of real analog compressors and rebuilt around the captured signatures.

McPlugins goes beyond conventional compression. Thanks to real-time inter-plugin communication, any instance of an "Msc" version can sidechain another — across tracks, no routing required.
Frequency-specific ducking, cross-track gain riding, multiband sidechain triggering: workflows that simply weren't possible before, now in a single plugin suite.

v1.6.0 — Tube reworked, ranges that mean something. The Tube mode was rebuilt against the Manley Vari-Mu captures: dead-flat linear-phase oversampling, 2nd-harmonic-dominant saturation, and a Vari-Mu gain reduction that finally engages where it should. Attack/Release are now musically scaled, every parameter shows the hardware-authentic range of the modeled unit, and Wet/Dry can be linked for a classic Mix-knob feel. UI scales up to 400 % for 4K displays.

The 4 Plugins

Mc — Single-Band Multi-Compressor

The heart of the suite. 7 hardware-calibrated emulation types in one elegant plugin:

• Tube — Vari-mu topology, warm progressive ratio, H2-dominant saturation that scales with gain reduction (true vari-mu bloom).
• Optical — Opto-cell, smooth response with true biphasic release (fast + slow).
• VCA — Solid-state precision, ratio-adaptive knee width.
• FET — JFET, program-dependent attack, hard knee, aggressive grab character.
• Bus — Auto-release glue compressor, holds long on transients (no pumping), releases quickly on sustained content.
• Digital — Clean digital compression, no coloration.
• DBR (new in v1.3.0) — Diode-bridge topology, VCA-like compression with transformer-style harmonic warmth and a +2 dB low-shelf below 200 Hz.

Features: external sidechain, sidechain high-pass filter, GR-modulated saturation & harmonics (Tube), stereo unlink, Mid/Side mode, auto makeup gain, 3-in-1 spectrum analyser with waterfall display.

McMsc — Mc + Inter-Plugin Sidechain

All the power of Mc, plus inter-plugin communication via shared memory. Send the sidechain signal from one track to another — even across plugin formats — via lock-free ring buffers in shared memory.

Perfect for: dynamic sidechain between kick and bass, group ducking, chained compression.

MbMc — Multi-Band Multi-Compressor (up to 6 bands)

Precision multi-band processing with 1 to 6 independent bands. Default crossovers at 80 Hz, 250 Hz, 1 kHz, 4 kHz, 10 kHz. Each band has its own compressor with independent threshold, ratio, attack, release, makeup gain and HPF. Linkwitz-Riley LR4 crossovers for transparent phase separation.

Features: per-band bypass, solo/mute, global + per-band GR metering, per-band sidechain (DAW input or shared-memory source), integrated spectral analyser per band.

MbMcMsc — Multi-Band + Inter-Plugin Sidechain

The ultimate version: 6-band multi-band processing + real-time inter-plugin sidechain communication. Each band can receive a different sidechain source from other "Msc" plugins, with timeline alignment for sample-accurate DAW sync.

Visual Interface

• Ratio: 1:1 to 20:1.
• Attack: 0.1 ms to 200 ms.
• Release: 10 ms to 2000 ms.
• Makeup Gain: -24 dB to +24 dB (auto or manual).
• Knee: 0 % (hard) to 100 % (soft, ~12 dB).
• Wet/Dry: parallel mix.
• Input Gain: -24 dB to +24 dB.
• Saturation: 0 to 100 % (Tube, FET — modulated by gain reduction on Tube).
• Harmonics: 0 to 100 % (Tube — modulated by gain reduction).
• Character: 0 to 100 % (per-type behavioral tuning).
