The Mellotron is one of the most well known and easily recognized early legends. It used analog tape to playback recorded instruments. Its signature sound has shown up on hundreds of albums from the Beatles to Beck and has spanned decades of musical changes without ever going out of style.

DVI Mellotron includes 3 different Strings Sections from the M200, M300, and Mark2 models, plus the Mixed Voices and of course the famous Mellotron Flute. The download version includes select samples from all these instruments and are looped to conserve memory.

CAUTION .. I downloaded the demo for Mac and actually enjoyed the instrument - somewhat quirky but very useable, and plenty of fx / shaping options.

Then the 3 day demo expired so I bought it. Impossible to install. The validation system takes place through a 3rd party website which will not recognise the order number which I have on the receipt, and absolutely no reply from Sonivox "support" .. I basically paid the money and have no product.

I will update this message if a resolution comes, but in the meantime, I recommend buyers to shop elsewhere.

I have been a customer of Sonivox for many years and use Mellotron plug in in most of my music, recently after formatting I have been unable to re-activate it and emails to sonivox have met with silence. It would appear that the plugin is no longer available and also not supported.
