MINIM Strings

MINIM Strings is an orchestral string library designed around a challenge many composers know well: creating expressive repetitive legato passages and minimalist motion without immediately falling into machine-gun repetition.

At the heart of the library is an extensive 8x round-robin legato sampling approach across the ensemble:

• Violin I — 8 players
• Violin II — 6 players
• Viola — 5 players
• Cello — 5 players
• Bass* — 3 players.

MINIM Strings was built specifically for composers working with repetitive legato figures, evolving ostinati, minimalist textures, emotional layering, and other forms of motion-based writing that can be difficult to achieve convincingly with traditional sample libraries.

• 8x legato round robins at both Piano and Mezzo Forte dynamics across the majority of the library
• 4x sustain round robins
• 4x release round robins
• Ensemble Doubler for a larger, thicker ensemble sound
• NKS compatible
• Requires the full version of Kontakt 7 or later
• Over 200,000 recorded samples
• Designed specifically for evolving patterns, minimalist writing, emotional layering, and repetitive motion that retains a human feel.

MINIM Strings represents one of Tempest Instruments' most ambitious sampling projects to date. Following an extensive development and refinement process, the library is now available and ready for composers looking for a fresh approach to orchestral string writing.
