Purr-Static

Purr-Static is currently in an early alpha stage. While it has already proven to be useful in real-world scenarios, it is still considered experimental and may change over time.

Purr-Static is a slow, transparent LUFS-based compressor and loudness rider by Noisebud.

You set a LUFS target, and the plugin gradually adjusts the gain over time to move the signal toward that target. The goal is not to sound like compression, but to gently shape perceived loudness in a way that stays musical and unobtrusive.

Purr-Static can be used on a wide range of material:

• Even out dialogue in podcasts by lifting quieter voices and taming louder ones.
• Control dynamics in music without flattening the feel.
• Gently manage loud sections while leaving quieter parts untouched.

A typical use case is dynamic material where a track might start around -18 LUFS but reach -4 LUFS in louder sections. Purr-Static can be set to ignore everything below a certain threshold, while subtly reducing only the louder parts by a few dB.

Unlike many loudness-based processors, Purr-Static handles silence and very quiet passages in a more stable way, avoiding abrupt level jumps when transitioning into louder sections.

Purr-Static is currently in alpha and considered experimental. Some features are still being evaluated and may change.

Availability & Pricing
Purr-Static is currently free while in alpha. Users need to be at least free members on Noisebud's Patreon to download it.

Noisebud uses a Patreon-based distribution model:

For $6 per month, subscribers receive access to almost the entire Noisebud catalog, including plugins, scripts, and tools. Subscriptions are flexible and can be started or cancelled at any time. Products downloaded during an active subscription remain usable permanently.

Access to updates requires an active subscription, but users may resubscribe at any time to download the latest versions.

Alternatively, plugins are available as one-time purchases via the Patreon shop. The individual license includes all minor updates up to the next major version.
