Reyes 303

Reyes 303 is the pure amp model of my boutique vintage tube amp. The original circuit is very basic so the algorithm is simple and uses voltages measured from the hardware circuit. The resulting sound is very accurate and it generates complex harmonics when driven into saturation.

The original amp design is from the 1959 Harmony H303, a single-ended Class A amplifier built around a 12SQ7 triode preamp and 50L6 pentode output stage.

The simple circuit was modeled at the component level, with voltage measurements taken from the real hardware. The result is dynamic saturation that responds to how hard you push it rather than sitting at a fixed amount.

This is the raw amp model, one knob, exactly like the real amplifier.

TIP: add a gain plugin before and boost the gain into the circuit, that's where it really shines, and exactly what I did in TRIODE.
