First of all, the gui is what it is...

but you can change it :D You can ether buy one or you take the time and make your own.

Apart from that, it is the best software out there for Live rec or FOH mixing, with the options to use whatever VST plugin inside the mixer.

SAC - software audio console is the live version of SAW, which is more of a live mixing console, whereas SAW would be the recording and editing part of it, just like a sequencer or a tape machine.

wow. been a very long time since i dabbled in this. i am very suprised to see it still going.

my main gripe remains, the GUI is not good. it looks hoprribly dated...

all power to developer though :)
