Speedrum lite

This plugin is very promising. I like the GUI and it has great sound quality. I'm assuming there will eventually be a pro version? What's definitely needed in the beta version, is the option to choose one shot or envelope modes. Right now, it's monophonic which isn't suitable for cymbals or other sounds you want to overlap. Unless I missed it, there also should be choke groups. The filters sound really good. Some other types would be a nice touch and maybe a MPC or EMU emulation. Sample slicing & export would be great in a pro version.

How does it compare to Sitala?

I briefly tried Sitala awhile back. It didn't make a strong impression on me, but it has some nice features. I'm not a big fan of the GUI mainly. Speedrum by contrast, has a nice functional GUI. It can play: WAV, AIF, FLAC, MP3, & OGG files. The sound quality is very high and just feels more like a hardware sampler IMO. It's also resizable and available as a DLL file. It has great potential to be a commercial product at some point.

Before all start to say is close to Sitala, I want to give some suggestion to be different:

- Normal load of samples (facultative preview) instead of "Drag and drop" only (not always a producer/composer have the samples ready).

- A (bypassable) randomizer of dynamics/velocity like "Humanize" in EZDrummer (starting programming a rock drums with "Humanize" bypassed and at the end activate it, still remains a great trick).

- A little pan randomizer (± 6% SX/DX it's enough), especially on snare fills but for kick also (for example, if i want to simulate a double kick drummer).

- Anti "machine gun"...

- Some starting effective Drum Kits (24-bit, 44.1 kHz resolution it's enough): acoustic/rock/pop, electronic etc etc...

Are the features you listed in Speedrum or Sitala?

Both are exciting, promising new drum samplers.

hi all, it seems a nice tool... only don't works on Cubase elements 10.5.20 (OS X Catalina). Cubase says it's a 32-bit 1st and place it on the blacklist...

It is fixed in the latest update.

I like this. It's more limited than Poise but at least I can change the GUI size. I would like to be able to rename the pads. ATM it shows a cut version of the name of the sample I loaded inside each pad. But the wave editor is already doing that and better because you can see the full name of the sample. Cheers .

Yeah, right now it's showing the same text. You can doubleclick the text above the waveform to change it and text on a pad will be changed as well.
