Synthoid is an analog modelling synthesizer for the Android platform, giving you access to a powerful synthesis engine in the palm of your hands.
The synthesis engine features 3 audio oscillators and 2 low frequency oscillators. It gives you access to 5 different mods that can be assigned to control the synth parameters to allow you to 'play' the synth in real time.
The player screen gives you access to a theremin like interface to control 2 parameters by moving your finger around.
You can also map the 3 different axes of the accelerometer to individual parameters so that you can vary them by moving your phone about in the air.
The sound design potential means that you can create eerie sci-fi sound effects and a convincing theremin sound. You can create thick detuned bass sounds and vary the amount of detuning in real time.
Synthoid comes complete with some preset patches that should help you get an idea of how to program the synth and to get you started. Once you get round to creating your own patches, you can save them for the future.
There is a full user guide that is shipped with the product to help get you started.
Synthoid is a living product, and you can expect to get access to new features as they are released - straight through the android market.
