The Free Orchestra is an all-in-one orchestral/cinematic toolkit from ProjectSAM, comprising over a gigabyte of sounds derived from their premium instruments, such as those found in their Symphobia and True Strike series. It contains 16 free cinematic instruments ranging from soft strings to thunderous drums, all recorded in a beautiful concert hall setting and deployable within Native Instruments' free Kontakt Player.
As well as individual sounds like orchestral string staccatos and brass clusters, The Free Orchestra contains a number of Multis, presets that layer the individual instruments together in inspiring, musical ways. You also get ten mixer slots, which you can use to create custom Multis or faster recall of project sounds.
Another notable feature of The Free Orchestra is its extensive instrument control. Users can manipulate and control the sounds in the library freely. Adjust the Attack, Decay, add Reverb, tweak the Limiter, engage a (low-pass) Filter, or set Stereo controls. You'll also find a Master EQ button for a high/low-end boost and an Octaver button that adds an octave to any sound, as well as further settings like visual transposing and range selection in the Advanced view.
