Sorta scammy, because you can launch Behringer Vintage only after registration, BUT...for this registration your MOBILE NUMBER (!!!) is mandatory. Without this mobile registration VST3 and standalone version start only in totally silent mode, w/o sound at all.

Pretty darn good for Behringer's first softsynth effort, especially considering it's free.

Easy workflow to create authentic vintage sounds and the effects are a nice bonus.

Program gives you an option to only install a VST3, but forces you to install the standalone so you can register. The plugin itself can not register.

On top of that, the sounds are thin and plasticky. I've heard better sounds out of mid-2000's SynthEdit plugins, and those didn't force you to register so you could use a free synth.
