I honestly think this is one of the best VST chorus plugins, free or otherwise. The controls are simple, but there's still a lot of versatility - can go from subtle stereo widening to full on lush chorus.

One of my favourite compressor plugins - relatively easy to use and imparts a nice vintage sound to your material. Can absolutely smash drum busses if you need it to.

Great if you want to put a bass sound together with a minimal amount of hassle. I wish the arpeggiator did more than just octaves but you can always stick an arpeggiator VST before it anyway.

Fantastic sounding dub delay with a lovely GUI. Can do some great self-oscillation if you crank the feedback dial. My only problem is that the modulation gets very OTT very quickly - would appreciate more range.

A good choice for lo-fi and modulation effects. The tape stop effect is decent, but would recommend the Wavesfactory Cassette Transport if you need more control over the tape stop sound.

Nice interface, good FX selection (chorus, delay, reverb, bitcrusher), my go-to for pads and leads. Where it falls down is bass sounds imo, lacking a square waveform.

Does exactly what you need it to (analyse frequencies accurately and in real time). I like using it to see what saturation and exciter plugins are doing to the signal.

Still the gold standard for a free synth VST. Would definitely recommend to learn how to program synths. I'm very sad so I used the colour editor to make it look like a Nord Lead.

Really clean and easy to use interface. I particularly like the sample editing functions. Would recommend if you need a free (drum) sampler VST.

Can do a great lo-fi drum sound. My issues: sometimes the UI doesn't register changes in the parameters; you can't downsize the UI.
