This is an absolutely beautiful fuzz effect preceding any clean amp combo. I tested dozens of great fuzz plugins before various amps, and this was one of the absolute finest in that role. It's now one of my go-to plugins for "fuzz pedal" effect. The filter and feedback make it quite flexible. When used as a guitar pedal prior to the amp, it is a superb tool.

@Chevytraveller, I have to agree. I give it 4 stars, docking Softube a star for the rigid interface. Cherry Audio's Voltage Modular slays Softube's for ease of use. You can intuitively drag modules between other modules and see them automatically make the needed room in Voltage. This stuff is so obvious, which is why Voltage is taking off at breakneck speed. Also, their open module development is inspiring. I own both products, but if Cherry had come out before Softube, I would have ignored Softube. On a side note, I wish one of these developers would find a way to allow more than one set of inputs for inter-plugin routing though. All we'd need is a transmitter plugin to be inserted on any channel anywhere in the DAW that feeds many inputs of the modular plugin. I digress. But back to the main point: Cherry kicks the shins of Softube on modular plugin design.

One of the two most accurate LUFS meters and this one is much more affordable. I've been recommending it to anyone concerned without loudness targeting.

This plugin could have been a legend if it had given the user control over pitch. It sounds good for a one-trick pony. Just pray your song is in the same key as the sub. Add frequency control and I'll gladly use it as well as change rating.

Best soft-clipper plugin on the planet, no joke. Slick HF limiter. This plugin is priceless. As one of the best compressor/limiter/clipper/ISPLs around, I still can't believe it's free. Don't forget to turn on 4x oversampling.

One of the best and most realistic emulations around. For classic synths in software, U-He is one of the few no-brainers. And with Repro, you get two synths in one.

Bravo... love at first listen! Unique compared with other delays. Extended options give this plugin flexibility in a modern context as well. I'm very impressed with this thing.

Shockingly good. It's rare to find drive with good bass response, and the mix knob gives you parallel processing on an insert. Need instant grit on drums? Done. I'm very impressed. This will be a go-to for me.

I wish this reverb was still supported. Even though it has a simplistic digital signature, it sounds amazing and deeply textured. It's a shame it will eventually disappear.

This is a one-of-a-kind EQ that I adore. When a plugin applied to a song just doesn't cut it and automating is unintuitive, that's the time to reach for Spectro. It's one of my secret weapons for precision de-essing and intermittent EQ problems. It has saved me hours of grief on many occasions.
