I don't understand the hype Nomad places on these processors. Most NF plugins do their jobs well, some exceedingly well, and then there are dogs. This series is a dog.

There are two aspects to these processors - perceived volume, and tonality. Neither are very good with AMT, in my opinion.

I find the dynamic adjustments ineffective and weak. If I'm going just based on sheer volume increase, then Tomas Mundt's LoudMax, Steinberg's Max plugin, and Logic's Adaptive Limiter are far more effective. I can't get my buss mix as loud with AMT plugins as I can with the others mentioned - without distorting unpleasantly.

Tonally, they are harsh.

I have tried to stack these processors against others multiple times, and they always end up at the bottom of my tests.

I want to like them, they look fantastic, but the sound is more important and they just don't sound good to me.

Works well on vocals - the compressor is transparent enough that I can "set and forget" this on vocals. The EQ nicely notches out nasal vocal frequencies. Adding a touch of the 12AX7 emulation adds a touch of warmth without sounding wooly.

I find myself using it as a quick addition while tracking but it usually remains for the remainder of the production.
