Solid FOSS sampler software for Linux(standalone and lv2 plugin). Great features for manipulating audio samples in interesting ways. And as usual in the developer's Vee One Plugin suite, it also comes with a great set of built-in effects for further shaping of your sound in interesting ways. A really use tool for electronic music producers as well, for creative sampling and resampling. Plugin version works great with Qtractor (or any other Linux DAW).

a really solid FOSS drum kit sampler for Linux. great set to features to manipulate individual drum samples in the kit as well as a nice set of effects to apply to the entire kit. comes as both standalone version as well as lv2 plugin version which works great with Qtractor (or any other Linux DAW). It's not as advanced as in you can't send individual drum samples in a kit from a single plugin instance to different audio output/buses afaik, but you can of course adjust vol and other parameters independently for each sample in drum kit from within the plugin. But otherwise it's a very useful tool for creating drum groove using one shot drum samples via a MIDI editor/piano roll such as in Qtractor etc.

A really great classic subtractive synthesizer software. If you're familiar with subtractive synths, you can make a variety of sounds with it, such as leads, pads, bass, synth strings, FX, etc. It also has a nice set of built in effects to shape your sound further. It comes as both standalone as well as lv2 plugin which can be used with a DAW like Qtractor and you can automate all its parameters.

practically perfect for MIDI, soft synth and audio sampling based music production that i do. mixing workflow is not comparable to mainstream DAWs, however. it's capable with plugins like LSP send/return for flexible audio routing internally. just not the most seamless mixing workflow implementation. But very capable for composition and music production. (Qtractor can be used to record, edit, arrange MIDI and audio. You can use virtual instrument and effect plugins and perform automation. It also provides a mixer window/console for basic mixing. You can connect external hardware and software to Qtractor as well using its connections window or a dedicated patchbay.).
