Takt – Free Max for Live Device for Ableton Live
Takt is a tempo-synced amplitude shaping device that brings clock-driven rhythmic movement to any audio source in Ableton Live designed by Stephen Black.
At its core, Takt behaves like a clocked VCA: incoming audio is shaped by an envelope that is tightly locked to Live's tempo. A built-in clock divider lets you define how often the envelope is triggered, while a compact 4-step sequencer introduces evolving rhythmic patterns without the need for external modulation.
Attack and decay controls allow anything from sharp, percussive gating to slower, swelling motion. A wet/dry mix makes it easy to blend rhythmic modulation with the original signal, while an output gain stage ensures consistent level control.
Takt is designed for creating drums, modulating synths, textures, field recordings, and drones — anywhere you want rhythmically precise movement that feels modular in spirit but remains immediate and musical inside Live.
