The plugin is beautifully designed and the sounds well organized. It sounds Amazing, but the player has issues and it needs realtime exporting of the audio tracks, minor inconvenience for the price. The library also includes a piano. Again, it will probably be the only piano you will need,

I absolutely love SSO. I has everything I need for soft instrumental to full blown orchestral. Sounds are great and meshes well with other libraries. It has more options than I will probably ever use. I have several other libraries but SSO is my go to. I write music for myself but sometimes I have made music for wedding/family videos. My goal is to score music to my own videos once I get a little better at videography. SSO has all I need to make this happen. It is a large library and rather intensive on CPU/memory, so I built a nice windows PC with 64gb memory, 4tb storage and 12th gen i7 CPU so that it plays nice with Ableton and SSO. It gives me plenty of headroom to load everything. After buying several libraries Like East west Orchestra, Fantasy Orchestra, The Score and Komplete Collectors I have found that SSO is the best so far. I waffled on SSO vs BBCSO core but went with SSO due to the inclusion of solo instruments, additional instruments and various articulations. The performance patches are absolutely amazing. No regrets.

This is a really great flute product that dives into the evocative, breathy textures of unusual woodwinds. Recorded at Spitfire's own London studio, Rare Flutes focuses on instruments that veer away from the standard orchestral toolkit. I found tones of the bansuri, ocarina, shakuhachi, and other less conventional flutes captured in detail. The collection includes 47 presets spanning single articulations and layered textures, with long sustains, shorts, flutters, and expressive bends all playable through Spitfire's streamlined Originals interface.

What I especially love about it is the ease with which you can get a flute part that sounds big, but easily blends with other instruments.

The footprint is under 1GB and inexpensive, Rare Flutes is a compelling addition for composers looking to expand their sonic storytelling. It won't replace your orchestral woodwinds, but it will add instant mystique to any score.

EDIT: Jack from Spitfire Audio works with me in the Support portal to get this sorted. I have a custom build (again) but this time it looks quite stable. So adding two stars back. (It really does sound awesome.) It'll go to 5 again when the issue gets sorted completely. But so far the support has been stellar. (Actually I'm the slow bit in the process. Sry for that.)

I love Spitfire audio. I do. But this product was not fortunate. I've got around 400 plugins installed. Phobos is without a doubt the most unstable piece of software I've ever bought. Most of the time it crashes the whole DAW right away upon load. Not usable at all. It crashes Ableton, it crashes Reaper it crashes Cubase. All tested today with the latest version.

(Installation absolutely standard, with normal default VST3 path, managed by Spitfire's manager.).

Two years back I contacted the support, explained my problem, even tested a few builds they did for me. No luck. I gave up on that plugin and went on with my life with hopes they would fix it meanwhile. Because I saw that they made another collab with BT lately (whom I love), I gave my expansive paperweight of a plugin another try. Re-installed it. Noticed that the version number did not change over those two years (so likely zero development) and yes ... the plugin still crashes.

I'm sad, because I like the idea of convolution synth/library, but nope, it's still unusable. Contacted the support again. I'll try to require refund/product swap again. But no. As of right now I can't recommend this plugin. I'm sorry Spitfire, I love you, but this one is crap, unfortunatelly.

It's useable in many different styles of music and sound design. The Paper snares just are great for a different, complex sound compared to the normal snare. All of it is so very good. You download the Spitfire app, download the Sound library. Open your DAW and its, It's useable in many different styles of music and sound design. Also, you get different parameters to control over each patch from reverb amount dynamics attack release distortion etc.

really blow away by how good this is, recommend for anyone looking to explore realistic sounds.

A good collection of great virtual instruments, no obligation to download any you don't want, friendly UI, the number of instruments is continually being expanded, and it's free.

You really can't ask for much more than that.
